About Rigveda
The term "Rit" means what is right or true. A verse that expresses righteousness is called a "Rich," and a verse that offers righteous praise is known as a "Rik." The collection of such verses is called the Rig Veda. In essence, the Rig Veda contains knowledge about many subjects, including consciousness and God, along with their qualities, actions, and nature.
Today, only two branches (Shakhas) of the Rig Veda are available: the Shakala Shakha Samhita and the Bhashkala Shakha Samhita.
The Rig Veda Samhita consists of 10,552 mantras, which are organized in two different ways: (i) into 10 Mandalas, 85 Anuvakas, and 1,028 Suktas (ii) into 8 Ashtakas, 64 Adhyayas, and 2,024 Vargas
